Since its establishment in 2019, the Ph.D. Program in Asia-Pacific Regional Studies, College of Humanities and Social Sciences recruited students from all over the world to study in cross-disciplinary on the Asia-Pacific region's society, economy, culture, and environment. There are 17 doctoral students enrolled currently. On January 19th, 2022, the Ph.D. program held a grand opening ceremony to celebrate the completion of all construction of the new spaces, including the classroom, study room, meeting room, and offices, which will provide favorable learning conditions to the teachers and students. |

President Han-Chieh Chao and Vice President Yuan-Ron Ma attended the ceremony and gave opening remarks. Most of the students of the Ph. D. program and several teachers of the college were present there too. President Chao said the Ph.D. Program in Asia-Pacific Regional Studies creates an opportunity for students with different nationalities and cultures to get together. It is a great feature of the program, and it could make the school more open to the world. The administration division will fully support the program to assure it having a much better development. Vice President Ma, also the Dean the International Affairs, said it is hoped that the program will have a bright future and become the leader in the related study fields. If there is any need for the program, the Office of International Affairs will make an effort to help it. Wish we can achieve the goal to make international advantage of NDHU. |

The chair of the program, Professor Hurng-Jyuhn Wang, presented to thank all support from the school. It is terrific to get brand new spaces for teaching and studying. The crews and students will make more effort in the diverse and cross-disciplinary research. Finally, the participators unveiled the plate of the Ph. D. program together. Professor Wang gave an orientation to the guests and successfully concluded the ceremony. |
